A GEO proposal should not be a vague promise to “get a brand recommended by AI”, nor an undefined bundle of SEO, PR and content. A responsible engagement explains the problem, the assets that remain and the outcomes it cannot guarantee.
Define the boundary
GEO concerns whether a brand can be understood accurately, mentioned appropriately for relevant questions and supported by credible sources in AI-assisted search. It is not a paid placement in a model and no provider can responsibly guarantee a recommendation in a particular answer. Start by defining market, language, buyer, priority service and revenue-relevant questions.
Deliverable 1: answer and fact baseline
Build a question set across branded, service, scenario, comparison and decision queries. Log platform, language, region, date, presence, factual accuracy, cited sources and competitors. Reconcile company name, service boundaries, markets, contacts, cases and public evidence across owned and third-party pages. The purpose is a repeatable starting point, not a flattering AI ranking table.
Deliverable 2: owned-site knowledge audit
Review services, cases, About, insights, contact routes and language versions. Check crawlability, consistency among visible content, canonicals and hreflang, ability to answer a question independently, fit, deliverables, limits and internal links. The useful output is a prioritised repair list, not keyword-density theatre.
Deliverable 3: citable content and technical delivery
A content brief should name the reader, question, conclusion, conditions, steps, limits, factual reviewer and next-step link. Decision frameworks, checklists, process explanations and honest case reviews tend to be more useful than repeated trend essays. Technical foundations include stable URLs, correct status, sitemap, robots, canonicals, hreflang, mobile readability and structured data matching visible content. These reduce access and interpretation friction; they do not promise rankings or citations.
Deliverable 4: external evidence and monthly review
Identify independent coverage, partner pages, transparent community participation and compliant encyclopedia readiness; reject link schemes, fake reviews and disguised promotion. Retest a fixed question set monthly and track presence, accuracy, errors, cited sources, search impressions, service-page visits and qualified conversations. Ask a provider which baseline questions it uses, which assets remain, how languages differ, what it will not promise and how the work can be maintained. WEPR coordinates GEO with international SEO, PR, community and conversion measurement while keeping each scope explicit.
What are the minimum GEO deliverables?
A baseline prompt set, brand fact ledger, source audit, owned/third-party remediation plan, retest record, evidence levels and next-stage plan.
Is an answer screenshot proof of GEO performance?
One screenshot proves one observation. Record platform, model, date, language, market, prompt and cited sources, then repeat the sample.
Can a GEO service guarantee brand recommendations?
No. Research, content, technical, evidence and monitoring outputs are controllable; model retrieval and answers are not.
