The common encyclopedia misconception is “write a polished company introduction and submit it.” The difficult work is usually proving why the topic merits coverage, which independent sources support each material claim and how an interested company can participate responsibly.
Independent, reliable and reviewable sources
Prioritise editorial reporting, credible trade coverage, books, professional publications and authoritative institutional material not controlled by the company. A source should be publicly accessible, clearly identify the company or product and contain substantive coverage. Owned sites, releases, social accounts, paid placements and customer statements can help check facts but usually cannot establish independent attention alone. One edited article with useful context can outweigh dozens of syndicated reprints.
Fact ledger and timeline
Maintain legal name, brand names, founding date, location, core activity, products, meaningful milestones, public funding or awards and leadership. Attach source, date and approved phrasing to each item. This prevents conflict across languages, platforms and contributors.
Image rights and conflict safeguards
Images need clear copyright or licence terms. Company ownership does not give every platform the right to use every asset, and media-search images cannot simply be copied. Keep original file, rights holder, permission scope, creator and public version. Employees, agencies and paid contributors have a relationship to the topic; follow disclosure, proposal, talk-page or draft-review routes rather than posing as independent contributors.
Platform difference and pre-submission check
Wikipedia, Baidu Baike and Douyin Baike are different governance systems. Check current rules, citation format, review route and prohibited material separately. Before submission, confirm every material claim has an independent source; each source supports the exact statement; unsupported superlatives are removed; timeline is consistent; image rights are clear; and a rejection triggers evidence improvement rather than repeated submission.
